Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri was an Indian actress who achieved recognition for her performance in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the late 1980s, and rose into prominence thanks to her character in the Tezaab film, where she starred with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her subsequent appearance on the screen was in Dil with Aamir. Born into a Mumbai middle-class family and started dancing when she was a child. She began acting when she was young and fought through a couple of years since most of her initial film projects were unsuccessful. Eventually she became one the most famous actresses in Indian film. Following her marriage the actress took time away from performing before returning. Recently, she had a major role to play on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit has been nominated for the fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize given to civilians in India is bestowed to Dixit. Her fame is based on her social works as well.
